Over $52Billion has so far been donated to charities through MissionFish so far (as of June 2007).

How It Works

The non-profit organisations sign up to MissionFish; The seller sets up a MissionFish account, with their bank card details.; When creating the eBay listing, the seller selects a charity with MissionFish and selects a percentage of the end-price to donate to that charity.; If the item sells, the seller sends the item once he has received the money, and MissionFish collects the money due.; The money is passed on to the charity and any tax-releif is sorted out by MissionFish.;

Charities Availiable

There are currently (As of June 2007) almost 2000 UK and over 10,000 US charities to choose from.

Complaints

MissionFish debits sellers accounts in the two weeks after the eBay lising finishes, regardles of the status of buyers payment, so sellers often loose interest on funds that they have not yet received. This can lead to sellers being 'in the red' and can occur bank charges.

Non-Paying-bidders on charity auctions cause more trouble for sellers if they have chosen a charity listing, as they not only have to go through the eBay complaints procedure to get the listing fees back, but they also have to complain to MissionFish to get the funds back too.

Some users have complained that the number of charities listed is too great.
